Yay new job!

I started about a month ago at my first salaried position in a smallish town in central Indiana. Work is going well, though I still spend a lot of time fighting with the "help" desk. The best part was last week when I was having computer problems and the help desk was down.

Anyway, life is going well. I have made a lot of new friends through the network I have here: there are several Rose graduates here from within the last couple of years, and I got to meet their friends, and they became my friends. Now I watch softball on Thursdays, play racquetball several times a week, and have about a dozen people over for dinner on Sunday or Monday nights. It is a ton of fun. I really like that I came here and did not spend the first several months somewhat lonely like I did when I was on co-op last year. It was nice sleeping 10 hours or more a day, but at a certain point, I really enjoy the social interaction.

I have ended up really sunburnt the last several weekends. I went up to my best friend's lake house near Indy and was out all day tubing and waterskiing and on the jetski and in the boat and swimming several weeks ago with one of my friends from work. Then two weekends ago, I went with about 25 people down to Patoka Lake and spend two days on the water. I was fluorescent pink after that one. Last weekend I was at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio standing in the sun all day. I am starting to have a decent tan, even with all the sunscreen :-)
