This is Hank. He is a stray who recently showed up at one of my co-workers houses looking for food. He has recently been neutered and is currently living with me until he finds a permanent home. He is a super friendly kitty, likes to be petted, eats like a horse (he's about a year old and has been foraging all summer), and likes to squeak at the birds that come to my deck to eat out of my bird feeder.
If you have any ideas, leave a post and I will get back to you.
Life has been good (in no particular order):
(*) I eat Japanese at least once a week, if not more, since there is a nice little place not too far from here that does a fairly inexpensive lunch.
(*) I will be fostering a little kitty, well I think he is little, he's a year old and I should have him for a week or two.
(*) I play racquetball at least twice a week with my good friend Kha, who also shares my amusement with the funniest video game ever:
(*) Kung Fu Chaos - you need to see it to believe it.
(*) I am looking to buy a new (to me) car and have been toying with the idea of getting something that is less practical and more fun than the sedan I have now. I was thinking about something with 2 doors, a stick, and a sunroof...
(*) I have recently started dating this awesome guy who seems as into me as I am into him
(*) I may get to go to Paris over Christmas. Taking 2 days off work nets me an almost 2 week long vacation.

I am totally loving Columbus. The work is interesting, and the people are fun to be around. To illustrate: I ended up out and about yesterday with my boss and two of the guys in my department over at the verizon wireless store so they could get their new phones up and running and decided to run by the ATM to drop off a couple of checks. Of course, when I get back to the VZW store, they are gone, and have taken the car and moved it. Grr. So I call my boss: "where are you?" sounding more bored than annoyed. They had moved the car and gone to Circuit City to look at holders. Grrr.
Also, I like what I do. I spent most of last week in training, but the week before that I spent writing Matlab (TM) scripts to deal with data maniuplation. I have never really liked programming, nor have I ever really enjoyed working with Matlab, but when I finished, I felt good about what I had done and pleased with the way the coding had ended up being pretty clean. Also, the Mathworks helpdesk is actually helpful, so don't be afraid to call them, unlike the helpdesk at work. That still makes me angry that the helpdesk and the software guys were basically just kicking my help tickets back and forth. grr.

Yay new job!
I started about a month ago at my first salaried position in a smallish town in central Indiana. Work is going well, though I still spend a lot of time fighting with the "help" desk. The best part was last week when I was having computer problems and the help desk was down.
Anyway, life is going well. I have made a lot of new friends through the network I have here: there are several Rose graduates here from within the last couple of years, and I got to meet their friends, and they became my friends. Now I watch softball on Thursdays, play racquetball several times a week, and have about a dozen people over for dinner on Sunday or Monday nights. It is a ton of fun. I really like that I came here and did not spend the first several months somewhat lonely like I did when I was on co-op last year. It was nice sleeping 10 hours or more a day, but at a certain point, I really enjoy the social interaction.
I have ended up really sunburnt the last several weekends. I went up to my best friend's lake house near Indy and was out all day tubing and waterskiing and on the jetski and in the boat and swimming several weeks ago with one of my friends from work. Then two weekends ago, I went with about 25 people down to Patoka Lake and spend two days on the water. I was fluorescent pink after that one. Last weekend I was at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio standing in the sun all day. I am starting to have a decent tan, even with all the sunscreen :-)
